Why hire a string quartet for your wedding?

  • Ideal for performing stand-out songs at key moments in your wedding ceremony, plus background music during your reception.

  • Strings are so versatile they can play almost any genre of music to keep your guests entertained.

  • They offer something for everyone, from classical, film music and folk to pop and soft rock.

  • Always dreamed of walking down the aisle to your favourite song? String quartets are great at creating new arrangements.

  • String instruments are synonymous with romance, creating the perfect atmosphere as you celebrate your love.

  • Easily portable, they can move to different parts of your venue for different parts of the day.

Should you hire a string quartet?

Many couples come to me saying “I want to hire a string quartet,” simply because that’s the only string ensemble they’ve heard of. Usually they've not considered whether it’s the right choice for their wedding.

Different sized events need different sized ensembles! I’ll ask you all the right questions, about your venue, your taste in music, your guests and your budget. I’ll use this information to make recommendations that are perfect for you.

How Much does a String Quartet cost?

4 musicians: 2 violins, viola and cello. The broadest range of repertoire of all the classical ensembles on offer.

Also available:

String Trio (prices from £830 to £1,500)

3 musicians: violin, viola and cello. Versatile like the string quartet and ideal if you’re restricted by space or budget.

String Duo (prices from £630 to £1,150)

2 musicians: either violin and cello, viola and cello or violin and viola. Perfect for small, intimate weddings.

Solo Violinist (prices from £530 to £875)

The violin works as a wonderful solo instrument, playing long, soaring melodies and fast, virtuosic tunes.

Solo Cellist (prices from £530 to £875)

Famously featured in the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the singing sound of the cello is beautifully romantic.

String Orchestra (price on application)

For larger events, I can provide anything from a small 8-piece string ensemble to a full symphony orchestra.
